Actually, there were other methods after root de la vega. I have a method here for the Note 3 that uses towelroot and an older vulnerable kernel. You simply flash the older kernel in odin, use towelroot, then flash the new current kernel back and you're rooted.

Don't think of Knox being tripped as a loss of warranty- think of it as a loss of Knox! Knox is an app on your phone that will no longer work (ever!) if you trip Knox. Research Knox and make sure you have no need for it before you decide to get rid of that functionality. If you work at a company that lets you use your own phone to receive work e-mail etc and would like to keep apps and e-mail on a separate secure container "work side" of your phone (Knox) then don't trip Knox. If you don't care about Knox, trip it and forget it.

It's just not fair to people to leave this valuable piece of information out when telling them to root or in the how-to root threads. They can't revert after the case and some don't realize they need it until they present their phones to their IT staff at work and are told their phone's Knox integrity has been compromised -meaning it's no longer able to be used for that purpose (Knox warranty 0x1). Also, if you just want a secure container for some personal apps and pics etc, you can use that Knox container for that without actually using any work information.

Finally Download Ext SD Card Write Fix

ROOTING YOUR ORIGINAL STOCK ROM . . . (N920TUVU1AOGE/N920TUVU1BOH4/N920TUVU1BOH6/N920TUVU2COI5)

STEP -1 -> OEM unlocking must be enabled: (Settings -> About -> Tap "Build number" 6 Times... now Settings -> Developer Options -> OEM unlocking

STEP 0 -> Make sure you already have the Samsung USB Drivers installed; if not... Download them from the link above and install them.

STEP 1 -> Unzip the ODIN File (Odin3_v3.10.7.zip)

STEP 2 -> You will now have a program called Odin3 v3.10.7.exe... Run the program as Administrator (Right click, run as administrator) Once you open Odin3 v3.10.7.exe you will have a screen with only 1 checkmarks on it.

FLASHING CUSTOM KERNEL (You will be able to root your device with this Kernel)

STEP 3 -> NOW ON THE PHONE - Turn OFF Your Phone and Turn it back ON by pressing POWER + VOLUME DOWN + HOME button together at the same time. A Warning Screen will come up; press Volume Up button to enter DOWNLOAD MODE.

> > > NOW CONNECT PHONE TO PC VIA USB < < <

STEP 4 -> Now back to ODIN v.3.10.7, then click on AP and browse for the file Noble_Kernel_Auto-Root_N920T_v0.1_Rebuid3.tar.md5.

>> Now, If you are a 100% sure that your program looks like the picture above... ClickSTART > > PHONE WILL REBOOT AFTER FLASHING RECOVERY . . .

-> You now have a ROOT KERNEL!
CUSTOM RECOVERY (TWRP RECOVERY)
STEP 5 -> NOW ON THE PHONE - Turn OFF Your Phone and Turn it back ON by pressing POWER + VOLUME DOWN + HOME button together at the same time. A Warning Screen will come up; press Volume Up button to enter DOWNLOAD MODE.
> > > NOW CONNECT PHONE TO PC VIA USB < < <
STEP 6 -> Now back to ODIN v.3.10.7, then click on AP and browse for the file twrp-2.8.7.1-noblelte.img.tar.

Now, If you are a 100% sure that your program looks like the picture above... ClickSTART > > PHONE WILL REBOOT AFTER FLASHING ROOT KERNEL . . .

-> You now have a Custom Recovery! (TWRP)

FLASHING SU

STEP 7 -> Now turn OFF Phone Again... This time you are going to the recovery... (Not Download Mode) So basically after the phone is off, you just turn it on by pressing POWER + VOLUME UP + HOME button together at the same time.

-> You will see this... SEE PIC BELOW . . .

STEP 8 -> Now hit INSTALL again(upper left) > then browse for the file BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip.

And Swipe to Install...

STEP 8 -> Now hit INSTALL again(upper left) > then browse for the file BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip.

And Swipe to Install...

STEP 10 -> Now hit INSTALL (upper left) > then browse for the file AOGE_SD_Write_Fix_Mod_TEKHD.zip.

And Swipe to Install...

Exit Recovery... Reboot (System Option in TWRP)

-> DONE!!! Android is now Rooted with Custom Recovery plus External SD Card Write Fix!

STEP 11 -> UPDATE -> Newest Stable Kernel arter97-kernel-n920tw8-4.3.zip
